Classic TT Labour Weekend 2011

Saturday saw the start of the Junior TT race. The conditions were almost perfect. Due to earlier breakdowns, there were a few less than there should have been to start the race. Neville Bull, Chris Hyland and Brian Brooks got off to a great start, followed by Geoff Long and Matthew Haywood, unfortunately Geoff going out on lap eight and finished with a DNF. A little further back Hugh Trenholme did well to pick up five places from the start, followed closely by Steve Pallant and Nick Casterton then Dean Rudling-Hanley with David Nance on the rear guard. Unfortunately Graeme Lancaster also ended with a DNF. Overall a good race with the fastest time of 1.24.56 by Neville Bull.

Sunday the weekend certainly sorted out some of the reliability issues with the bikes, as a result saw a smaller than usual field in the Senior TT. Chris Swallow, Colin Tate and David Morley were the first three across the line with Chris having the fastest lap time of 1.19.74. Kevin Casterton, Stuart Medge and Michael Clarkson made good use of the track time and credit has to go to all bikes for finishing the 15 lap race.

It was a great privilege to have Hugh Anderson give out the trophies on Sunday and was well received by all who attended. The results were as follows:

Junior TT

1st Neville Bull

2nd Chris Hyland

3rd Brian Brooks

Senior TT

1st Chris Swallow

2nd Colin Tate

3rd Dave Morley

A special thanks to all those who helped make the weekend enjoyable.
