33rd Annual Classic Motorcycle Festival
The 33rd Annual Classic Motorcycle Festival is now over. What a great weekend of racing, along with fantastic weather. The crowd was treated to a great line-up of beautiful vintage and classic bikes. On Saturday night we were treated to an entertaining, candid and sometimes moving talk at the main marquee by our overseas guest Colin Seeley and Bill Swallow. It is always both a privilege and pleasure listening to these heroes of motorcycling and we will all certainly look forward to next year’s guests.
The weekend’s racing was often hard and fast with finishing time splits being less than a quarter of a second. There was always something going on with great trade stalls, the campers up the hill creating their own entertainment, the Friday night bbq where you can catch up with people you haven’t seen since last year, forge new friendships and tell a story or two. A great night.
Sunday morning the Road Rally set out to the sound of the Piper up on the hill and was treated to some great roads around the Pukekohe area. Sunday night saw the conclusion of the weekend with prize giving for the Sunday’s events and the Championship year. Another great event which is not possible without the fantastic help from all the volunteers – so a big thank you to all of you that were involved.
