This year will see the first NZCMRR's special MANFEILD TT CUP event to be held as part of the final round of our yearly Championship racing programme. We are bringing our old TT trophy treasures out of the closet and adding some more to the mix! A special round of racing will be incorporated into the programme that will allow each race group to compete for 2 of these important NZCMRR trophies. You will get the chance to have your name etched onto these beauties! But you have to be in to win! The presentations will be made at this first event by some of our racing Legends!
Our hope is that this will become bigger and better; and become our "End of Year Festival Down South"!
How does this work?
There will be a special round of racing within the EVENT programme. This will not be a Championship Points round but will follow the same race groups and grid positioning as the rest of the weekend racing programme.
Grids for all the weekends races will be determined from your practice/qualifying time and you will have the same grid position throughout the weekend.
Only competitors who enter before the entry closing date will be allowed to compete in the TT Races. (Late, and on-the-day entries, will still be able to compete in all other championship points rounds held within the event).
The TT Trophy races will be a couple of laps longer than our standard races. As this is a Special Register "TT Trophy" event there is no intention to apply National TT compliance rules.
The trophies will be presented at Riders Briefing on Sunday morning.
Two Trophies will be awarded in each race of the TT CUP rounds of racing within the weekend programme.
The principle trophy will be the "Premier NZCMRR TT CUP" and will be based on a SEALED HANDICAP and every entrant in the Race Group is in with a chance!
By using historical data we will compile a list of average lap times for the entrants and then apply and load into the timing computer suitable handicap times. That is, if the fastest entrant is 20 seconds a lap faster than the slowest entrant then a +20 per lap handicap would be applied to the fastest entrant. An old fashioned handicap race!
Your time will be sealed and remain unknown to you until you have completed the race!
The "NZCMRR TT CUP" will be awarded to the normal first-past the-post race winner in each group.
